Flexible measurements in incoming goods or plants
It has never been so easy to analyse the carbon content of steels and stainless steels outside the laboratory. The new Niton Apollo handheld LIBS spectrometer is a precision tool for mobile use in quality assurance. It weighs only 2.1 kg and has been optimized for measurements in hard-to-reach areas. Despite its small size, it makes no compromises in measurement accuracy; for example, it can reliably distinguish between L and H grades of stainless steel. Fast weldability tests can be carried out just as flexibly as PMI checks. The Apollo achieves its accuracy by adding an argon flush. Sample preparation is necessary to achieve the extremely low detection limits. The Apollo has a robust aluminum housing, is dust and splash-proof according to IP54 and the battery can be changed during operation.
